The Nourish to Flourish (N2F) Database is now the GDSN Connect Database:

The GDSN Connect database empowers K-12 Child Nutrition programs by providing a central hub for product information. Leveraging Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) standards, GDSN Connect (GC) database facilitates seamless data sharing and synchronization across the entire supply chain.

Access the GDSN Connect Database:

  • Locate the "Search Database" Tab: On the left-hand navigation menu, you will now see a dedicated tab labeled "Search Database."

Search for Products by:

    • Name
    • Brand
    • GTIN (Global Trade Item Number)
    • Manufacturer Product ID

Filter Search Results (Optional):

  • Refine your search by:
    • Contract Items: Check the "Only Contract Items" box to limit results to items included in existing contracts.
    • Meal Component: Filter by specific meal components (e.g., main course, side dish).
    • Brand Type: Select "Branded Items" or "Generic Items" (e.g., Produce/Milk).

  • Review Search Results:

    • A list of products will be displayed.
    • If searching by Name or Brand, multiple results may appear.
    • If searching by GTIN or Manufacturer Product ID, one item will typically be displayed.
  • Select and Add Items:

    • From the search results, select the desired item.
    • Review the product information carefully.
    • Click the "Add" button in the top right corner to add the item to your local database.
  • Handle Contract Items:

    • If the item is on a preconfigured contract or is an Exclusive Brand, it will be automatically linked with the corresponding vendor.
    • For non-contracted items:
      • Manually add the vendor.
      • Enter the product ID.
      • Input the price.

  • Manage Local Database:

    • Once added, the item will appear in your local database.
    • Make any necessary changes to the item within your local database.
    • Note: Some manufacturer-provided information may be read-only.
