The Base Menus Module, found from the left side navigation bar under the Menu Planning category, is intended to make it simple for DA users to create base cycle menus that can be used to copy into the menu calendar. Base Menus can be copied into single buildings or building groups.
Creating a menu as a base menu isn't required/necessary if a menu planner isn't planning on using a base menu to copy into a particular building(s) menu calendar. In that case, the menu would be created directly within the menu calendar and linked to a particular building and day/week.
