YesGDSN Connect

This article details how to t. Within this article, you will discover a detailed set of guidelines elucidating the process of importing data in Titan from GDSN Connect.

Transferring Item Data from GDSN Connect to Titan

To transfer the updated data back into Titan, there are two separate import steps using two different Titan Template files. GDSN Connect automatically produces these files to import into Titan.

Template Files

    1. Item Inventory: This will create a new item and set it up as an Inventoried and Purchased item, as well as create the Base Unit of Measure and Preferred Unit of Measure.
    2. Item w/ Ingredient: This file contains the basic item information, including allergens and nutrients (and base weight value), for all items within the database. The import process in Titan will match and update any item using the “Identifier” value (which is called “District Item ID” in GDSN Connect). For any Identifier that does not exist in Titan, then a new record will be created.
NOTE: If there were no new item records created, then this file is all that’s required. However, if any new items records, these new records will only have limited information in Titan and will need to have the user manually configure them to be useful. The Ingredients Unit of Measure file should be imported next to setup the basic Units of Measure.
    3. Ingredients Unit of Measure: This file contains up to two Units of Measure for the items. It should be uploaded anytime there are new item records added into Titan to automatically configure the basic Units of Measure, including their descriptions and weights. The user will still need to configure these new Units of Measure and assign them as Ingredient, Inventoried, Purchased, etc.
    4. Unit of Measure Weights: You will use this report to add the missing Weights for the Preferred and Base Units of Measure created in Step 2. You may also want to add or update other Serving Units of Measure as desired.

Select “Titan” as the Export File Format.
